The blend door opening on the Honda Element sits in a spot that is rather susceptible to water intrusion. Rain runs down the windshield, under the windshield cowl, and some of the water can splash its way into the blend door opening, soaking your cabin air filters even if you have the CaveMods screen cover on. The Splash Shield magnetically attaches to the underside of the windshield frame, and redirects any water down the gutter, preventing the majority of splashes that might go down the blend door opening.
The shield is made of durable 1mm thick PETG plastic, with ASA brackets and corrosion resistant coated magnets.
Installation is as simple as letting the magnets attach to the car's body, and adjusting the position as needed. I prefer to have the shield all the way to the left, as close to the passenger side pillar as possible. Watch the video in the listing to see how it works!
It's highly recommended to use the Cave Mods Splash Shield in combination with the Blend Bunker screen cover, which prevents leaves, debris, and potentially even rodents, from entering the same opening. Both are easily removable should you ever want to access this area from above for some reason.
