Hey, I’m Matt! I’m a technically inclined maker and artist with roots in Mechanical and Manufacturing Engineering and a passion for turning ideas into tangible wonders! I specialize in bringing ideas into the physical world through various digital manufacturing techniques, like 3D printing, CNCing, and laser cutting. My days are filled with dreaming up whimsical toys & objects that bring joy to both kids and adults alike, and then testing them out on unsuspecting friends and their kids (they love it). I’ve joined the Honda Element community recently and I’m already blown away by the endless creativity and DIY spirit that runs through it. Head Savers – Clamshell Door-Lock Bumpers
Save the headbangin’ for the club.
Only a few lucky — or very short — Honda Element owners have avoided the dubious pleasure of smacking their head on the square metal bar that forms part of the rear clamshell door latch.
It sits at nearly perfect forehead height when you’re leaning into the back of the Element, and somehow we all manage to hit it more than once.
Cave Mods Head Savers to the rescue.
These soft, rubbery bumpers are precision-designed to fit over the exposed clamshell door-lock bars and take the sting out of those inevitable encounters.
Unlike some bumper-style solutions that have to be removed before closing the doors, Head Savers are shaped specifically to remain installed while allowing the clamshell doors to close normally.
Each Head Saver is 3D printed in TPU 85A, a flexible, rubber-like material that adds cushioning without creating a bulky obstruction around the latch.
