EXCELLENT! The bonus for me was amazing communication and color coded wires to the OEM wires. Helps take the guess work out of the process. This should be one of the first priorities of a new E owner. I will be sharing with our new group on Facebook - Oklahoma Element Owners. THANK YOU! Rob from OK “Elvira” - 2007 Honda Element EX AWD

UPGRADED Vtec Pig Tail • Water Proof • Genuine OEM
Product Details

The number one cause of the DTC P2646, P2647, P1009, and limp mode for any year Honda Element is water intrusion into the connectors for the spool valve. The spool valve is located on the firewall side of the engine just under the cowl. On top of the spool valve is an oil pressure switch and a VTEC solenoid. These connectors become corroded after years of water intrusion and then do not send proper readings to the ECU (most specifically on the oil pressure switch). The only true remedy is to replace the connectors, but unless the new connector is sealed the problem will reoccur later. These connectors are hand built out of Honda Genuine OE connectors with Tefzel wiring (color matched to the stock wiring), and then they are double sealed so that water intrusion is never an issue again. Included in the pack are heat shrink butt connectors to make installation quick and easy.

Note: 99 times out of 100 you only need to replace the Oil Pressure Switch pig tail however so many clients wanted to replace both that Classic Automotive NC started to offer them as well.

We offer two upgraded, waterproof pigtails designed for the VTEC solenoid in your engine, both using high-quality, color-matched wires to make installation easy.

1. Oil Pressure Switch Pigtail

  • Round plug and receptacle
  • Blue and brown wires
  • This is the one that most commonly fails and usually needs replacing.

2. Main VTEC Solenoid Pigtail

  • More rectangular/oblong plug
  • Gray interior
  • Green and black wires
  • This one is less commonly the issue, but many people replace it while they’re already working in that area.

Please reach out if you have any questions.
